Long before “Love Remembers Day” was established, Aleasa Word began a movement of compassion. She and I were both in what was (at the time) a small facebook group of support groups leaders from across the country.  When news of a loss to anaphylaxis hit the media outlets, most of us felt helpless and distraught.  But, Aleasa Word did something amazing; she took action.  Without asking for help or for money, she created Flowers for Anaphylaxis.  She invited all of us in the online group to participate.  Then, with her own money and her own time, she created cards and sent condolences listing the logos and names of all the groups from across the US to the grieving families.  This simple, but profound act, ensured that those whose lives were lost to anaphylaxis were not forgotten and that the families they left behind would know that they are surrounded by the love and support of the food allergy community.
Today, she leads a worldwide event that is dedicated to those same ideals.   Love Remembers Day is an extension of her original outreach of years ago. If you would like to join this movement of compassion,  Love Remembers Day is March 25-27th.  For more information on events and activities and how you can participate, visit here.
